About

mug1As I write this, I’m finishing hour three of a “Chopped” marathon on Food Network. I’m obsessed with food.

After 26 years as an omnivore, I’m getting into the veggie lifestyle. Though I’ve always loved vegetarian food my whole life and have been cleaning up my diet for a bit more than a year now, I’m finally ready to say, “OK. It’s time to go fully plant-based.”

Though I deeply care about animal treatment and the environmental impact of our diets, somehow the most unlikely reason for me to go veggie – my personal health – is what really spurred this transition.

As I make this change, I’m developing my own philosophy on what works best for me. The plant-based diet seems super intimidating to many who think it’s expensive, difficult and totally foreign. But with the inspiration of others (online, that is), I’m finding it way easier than I expected.

But that doesn’t mean the transition has been seamless. This blog will chronicle my journey making this change, including my mistakes and hardships.

Nonetheless, I’m determined to build a veggie lifestyle that’s bullshit-free and affordable (no pink Himalayan salt or ramekins in my kitchen) and I want to show you how you can do it, too.

No judgments here. Progress, not perfection!

That goes for my crappy cell phone camera pictures, too.
